Bethany's Story

I am the only one in my immediate family who is obese. My dad is slightly overweight, but all of my siblings have always been skinny and tall. I don't remember any specific time when I started to be overweight. I was always the girl with the "pretty smile." For all three years that we have been married, we've been trying to conceive. Although I have not yet gone to be tested, I have a feeling that the main reason we have not been able to is my obesity.

My goal is to have more than just a pretty smile. I want to have the body to go with my personality. I want to be fit, fertile, and fantastic.

I am a teacher, and every year when we get to health class, I feel guilty as I teach it. I want to be an example to my students of how to live a healthy life.
